cation | Rolleston, QLD |
Month visited | September |
Address | Cnr Comet St & Meteor St |
This is very much like a carpark, but facilities are really good and this is a great base to use when visiting Carnarvon Gorge.
AMENITIES | COMMENTS |
Entry & Exit | Wide one way driving, ample space to maneuver |
Showers & Toilets | Exceptionally clean with plenty of hot water and great water pressure |
Laundry | Good facilities but only one rotary washing line so get in early |
Camp Kitchen | We didn’t use it but it was clean and looked well stocked |
BBQ area | |
Pool | |
Ground Covering/Shade | Mostly gravel with some grassy areas for tents. There are some small trees, so there should be shade in the future |
Water | Nice enough to drink |
Dump Point | Apparently there is a dump point at Rolleston, but not in the caravan park. We couldn’t find it. Maybe we had a boy look. |
Grey Waste Outlet | Some sites had a trough, others could release onto the garden beds or grass |
Pet Friendly | Yes, but no off lead dog area |
Wi-Fi & Phone Reception | Yes to both and good coverage to both. |
Summary
This is a very busy, well maintained, short stay park. Most people seemed to stay for a single overnight, a base camp to visit Carnarvon National Park. The site empties in the morning and then fills up again by mid-afternoon.
There really is nothing at Rolleston except this park and a very small pub but the facilities are great and the staff are very friendly.
We give the Rolleston Caravan Park a 3 van rating, and would happily stay here again.
